Attempted Murder Suspect Sought In Berwyn: Police

The victim told police the suspect had a tracheostomy and was wearing a chef's jacket at the time of the attack.

BERWYN, IL — Police in Berwyn are reaching out to the public for help identifying a man who brutally stabbed a victim during a robbery in early July. Police say the victim was walking in the 6700 block of Cermak Rd. on July 8 when they were attacked by a man who was wearing a white chef's jacket and had a tracheostomy.

The victim, who has been hospitalized since the attack, was recently able to provide police with a description detailed enough to result in a composite image of the suspect.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 40s, standing around 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 300 pounds. Police say he has patchy five o'clock shadow, brown hair and brown eyes. He also has a visible tracheostomy like the one shown in the picture below.

According to police, the suspect was last seen wearing gray shorts and a white chef's coat.
