Bee Meeting Tonight

A husband-and-wife team who've been raising honeybees for decades will extol the benefits of beekeeping for gardeners.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday , 834 Lake St. Co-sponsored by the Garden Club of Oak Park and River Forest, the program will feature a talk from veteran beekeepers Charles and Karen Lorence.

Bees have been the buzz in Oak Park ever since talks began last fall about . That measure passed in June.

Without bees, and honey bees in particular, flowers, vegetables, and fruit can’t grow. Most of us are familiar with the role honey bees play in pollination, but we owe it to them to recognize their devotion to our cause.
