Bravo! Performing Arts Academy Summer Series

Children's Theatre that will exceed all your expectations!

The Bravo Performing Arts Academy at Brooks Middle School in Oak Park is proud to announce their thirteenth season of productions. With four incredible shows that will knock your roller skates off; Presenting Seussical Jr., Xanadu Jr., and Left in a Wicker Basket.

Seussical jr. will take you through a whirlwind of smash-hit music set in the whimsical Whoville and Jungle of Nool. The story will follow Horton on his journey of not only protecting his friend JoJo and the invisible Whos but having to guard an abandoned egg. Faced with danger and sadness his friends never give up on him. Based on the unique writing of Dr.Seuss, the story will show the power of true friendship, loyalty and family. As the Bravo family has grown the original Horton and Mazyie from the 2008 production are now Directors for Bravo, Eli Weinberg and Ragan Hughes. “Oh the things you can think, if you’re willing to try.”

Try singing, dancing and roller skating; Xanadu jr. is a hilarious musical adventure that will take you on a four wheel ride to reach your dreams no matter the limitations. With 80’s music that you will recognize and can sing along to such as, “I’m Alive”, “All Over the World”, “Magic”, and “Xanadu.” Our scenic designer, Jay Fancher, from our original production of Seussical jr. in 2008 has returned as our Roller Derby expert. Come see this one of a kind production as we have taken this 80’s Greek story to the next level with over 15 kids on Roller Skates.

‘Left in a Wicker Basket,’ an upbeat and quirky play that will follow the story of two identical twins orphaned at birth. You guessed it, they were left in a wicker basket right under the ‘ol boarding school steps. A letter left behind reveals they are the heirs to a fortune at- Wait! Part of the letter is missing! We will meet a slew of characters with exciting stories of their own and twists and turns along the way. Come to Madison Street Theatre to help solve the mystery of the Truehart sisters.
