Burglar Crawls Through 2nd-Story Window In Oak Park: Cops

The suspect(s) stole a car, a Playstation 4, a Macbook Air, and a wallet, police say.

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park police are investigating a burglary in which a suspect or suspects crawled in through a second-story window, ransacked the home, and stole a car. Police say the burglary took place sometime between late Thursday and early Friday in the 500 block of S. Taylor.

The victim told police that someone entered their home through the unlocked window between 11:30 p.m. on Thursday and 5:48 a.m. Friday. The following items were reported stolen from inside the home:

  • Playstation 4
  • Macbook Air laptop
  • Men's wallet containing credit card and car keys

According to police, the suspect(s) got into the victim's garage and used the car keys to steal a vehicle. Police did not specify the make and model of the vehicle and did not immediately respond to a request for more detailed information Monday.

The total loss was estimated at $75,000.
