Burglar Cuts Screen To Enter Home In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL — Oak Park police are investigating a burglary in which a suspect or suspects cut a window screen to gain access to a home. The incident took place Tuesday in the 1000 block of Washington Boulevard, according to a police summary.

The victim told police they left their home around 6:45 a.m. and then returned around 4:20 p.m. to discover that someone had cut the window screen and crawled in through the rear window of their home. Once inside, the burglar(s) stole a Playstation 4, an Xbox One, four controllers, an HP laptop, and a black and gray Armour backpack.

The total loss was estimated at $1,340.
