Planning Ahead: What Every Family Should Know About Estate Planning

Cathy Yanda, a REALTOR® with Baird & Warner and Senior Real Estate Specialist serving the Oak Park and River Forest area, will host a seminar titled "Planning Ahead: What Every Family Should Know About Estate Planning," at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Sunrise of River Forest, 800 N. Harlem Ave., River Forest, IL 60305. Guest speaker Eron McCormick, Principal Owner of The McCormick Law Firm, LLC, will join to address the intersection of estate planning and housing decisions. The event is free and open to the public.

Cathy holds the SRES® designation — Senior Real Estate Specialist — and specializes in guiding homeowners through the financial and emotional complexity of right-sizing and transition planning. A Marine Corps veteran, she brings a mission-oriented approach to what is often one of the most consequential decisions a family will make.

Eron has been a member of the Illinois Bar since 2014 and focuses his practice on real estate matters, business law, and estate planning. A graduate of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, he takes a conversational approach to legal counsel — making sure clients understand their options without the jargon. He also holds a Wisconsin real estate law license, an added resource for Illinois residents with property interests across the border. McCormick is a strong supporter of veterans and first responders, offering discounts to those who have served.
