Oak Park Arms Hosts Season Finale of Free Outdoor Concert Series on Friday, Sept. 18

The Oak Park Arms Senior Living invites the public to the grand finale of its popular Free Summer Outdoor Concert Series from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18. Neighborhood families, seniors and music enthusiasts are invited to gather at the Arms, located at 408 S. Oak Park Ave., for one last summer evening of live entertainment featuring the soulful sounds of The Caught Off Guards.

Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and enjoy the open-air venue.

"What I like about this series is watching neighbors meet our residents for the first time. Some people who've lived a few blocks apart for years are finally meeting," said Renee Steingard, director of leasing and resident engagement at Oak Park Arms. "We'll miss it once the season's over, but that's exactly why we want to go out with a good show."

Members of The Caught Off Guards first met at an open-mic event at the NAMI drop-in center in Oak Park. Bound by a shared love of funk, R&B, soul, blues and jazz, they initially began playing together as a backing band and live karaoke group for other performers. Through mutual support and a commitment to community connection, the group emerged as a main act for major local events.

Oak Park Arms Senior Living is a rental retirement community that provides senior housing in the form of independent living.
