Car Burglar Swipes Suitcase Filled With Cash In Oak Park: Cops
The burglar shattered the car window, popped open the trunk, and made off with the suitcase.
OAK PARK, IL — Police in Oak Park are investigating a vehicle burglary in which the suspect or suspects stole a suitcase that contained close to $5,000 in cash. According to a police report, the car was burglarized around 1:10 p.m. Monday while the car was left unattended for about four minutes.
The victim, a Wilmette resident, told police that the suspect(s) shattered the driver's side window of their 2011 Toyota Camry to gain access to the button that opens the trunk. Once the truck was open, police say the burglar(s) stole the suitcase.
The total loss was estimated at $5,000.
