Car Stolen In Oak Park After Keys Left In Ignition

OAK PARK, IL — Police are looking for a man who stole a car in Oak Park Thursday evening. The theft took place just before 7 p.m. in the 1100 block of Scoville, according to a police summary.

Police say the victim left their 2014 gray Honda Pilot briefly unattended with their keys in the ignition when the suspect entered the vehicle and drove off. The victim told police a black leather purse containing cash, IDs, and their house keys was inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

The total loss was estimated at $30,065.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, but no further description was provided.
