Children's Urgent Care Centers To Open In River Forest, Skokie

RIVER FOREST, IL — Parents will soon have another option when their children run a fever, get an odd rash, or have any worrisome symptoms. Children's Urgent Care is opening new facilities in River Forest and Skokie to provide after-hours care for patients up to 21 years of age. The River Forest clinic will be located at at River Forest Town Center 2Suite 7343, N. Lake Street and is set to open on September 15. The Skokie center will open on September 8 at 9735 Skokie Blvd Suite 016.

The Children's Urgent Care Centers are designed to help parents avoid one of the biggest hassles of having a sick child: long wait times. In a press release, Children's Urgent Care Center stated that the estimated wait time for a walk-in visit will be about five minutes.

The facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to perform x-rays, minor laceration repair, and flu and strep testing with rapid results. Other services will be available and Children's Urgent Care will be an in-network provider for most of the big insurance companies. The center also plans to accept Medicaid in the near future.

Once the facility opens on September 15, working parents can breathe a sigh of relief. As Gerardo Reyes, MD, the center's medical director said in a statement, “Our clinics will be a great option for busy parents with kids who get sick after their pediatrician is closed, or on holidays and weekends."

Both the Skokie and River Forest locations will be open 3pm-9pm Monday through Friday, and 9am-9pm Saturday and Sunday, and on all holidays.
