Cicero Man Shoots Girlfriend 11 Times In Deadly Game Of Dominoes
Police say six children were present when Mario Scott, 38, of Cicero, allegedly shot his girlfriend 11 times.

CICERO, IL — A Cicero man is in custody after he allegedly shot his girlfriend 11 times as his children watched late Saturday evening. On Tuesday, police charged Mario Scott, 38, with attempted murder and aggravated battery with a firearm. His girlfriend, 33, remains hospitalized in critical condition.
According to police, six children ranging in age from 1 to 14 were present in the home in the 2200 block of 58th Ave. at the time of the shooting. Scott allegedly prevented the oldest child from calling 911 after the shooting took place, police said.
According to police, Scott and Martin were playing a game of dominos and drinking when Scott suddenly got up, went to his bedroom and returned with a 22 caliber semi-automatic handgun. He allegedly fired at Martin and struck her 11 times in the midsection.

Scott then allegedly asked two of the children, ages 11 and 14, to help him get Martin into his car. He then drove with Martin and the children to Stroger Hospital. Cicero spokesperson Ray Hanania said Scott dropped Martin off at the emergency room and then left the hospital.
After an investigation, police took Scott into custody. Hanania said the six children were temporarily placed in the care of DCFS.
