Cook County Sheriff's Office Takes Over Des Plaines River Search for Missing Teen
The Cook County Sheriff's Department will take over the Des Plaines River search for Cameron Sanders, 16, missing since Saturday.

MELROSE PARK, IL — Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart has announced that Sheriff’s Police will take over the search for Cameron Sanders, 16, who has been missing after he jumped into the Des Plaines River with friends Saturday. The announcement comes just a half hour before community members planned to head out to conduct an independent search for Sanders. Authorities had initially suspended the recovery mission for the teen Sunday afternoon.
