Day in Our Village 2012: A Guide

So this is exciting. Ellen Plourde, the volunteer coordinator for Sunday's Day in Our Village, has sent along the booth assignments for the festivities. If you're keeping score, that's 143 community groups and organizations coming out for the event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at , 800 W. Lake St.

Also on Sunday, the following businesses will be hosting Open Houses: Divine Consign at 111 N. Oak Park Ave. and The Annex around the corner at 810 North Blvd., and the Zen Life Meditation Center, 38 Lake St. And , offered by the Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park.

Here's the performance schedule:

11 a.m. — Annie Kennedy
Noon — We John II
1 p.m. — IntoTheReal
2 p.m. — The DAVY Awards
2:15 p.m. — SheBoom!
3 p.m. — Ex Senators
4 p.m. — How Far to Austin
5 p.m. — Alpha Clef Project
6 p.m. — Kharma

Details on the nearby Summer Carnival, which includes a whole bunch of happenings for the kids, can be found at the Park District of Oak Park's website. A complimentary shuttle bus will bring guests back and forth throughout the day.

Clearly, there are lots of great groups to chat up. Some folks we've met. Some have been the subjects of Patch articles, and some are even blogging on Patch. And there are so many other people and groups we haven't met yet. We're looking forward to meeting them all.

As for our booth, we'll have all sorts of fun giveaways at Booth 3, close to the tunes and a long, across-the-park Frisbee toss away from the food, beer and wine. We'll have T-shirts, notebooks, temporary tattoos, pens, sweet reusable canvas bags and as many green balloons as I can possibly blow up. We'll also be snapping some pics and signing people up for our newsletter, you know, that free and easy daily dose of local information delivered right to your inbox each day.
