District 90 Cancels After School Activities Due To Frigid Temps

The school district will announce the status of school attendance on Wednesday by 12 p.m. Tuesday.

RIVER FOREST, IL -- Due to dangerously low temperatures and wind chills that have been predicted for Tuesday, District 90 officials have decided to cancel all after school activities slated for Tuesday afternoon. In an email, Superintendent Ed Condon said school will be in session during normal hours on Tuesday and that officials would announce by 12 p.m. Tuesday whether the school would be open Wednesday.

Condon said the district will communicate any information about closings via its website, social media, and school messenger. Patch will also update its readers about any delays or closures at District 80 and other surrounding schools.

Temperatures are expected to plunge to below -10 degrees and wind chills may be as low as -50 degrees late Tuesday.
