Fire Destroys Factory Building, Disrupts CTA Traffic Near Cicero
A fire ripped through a factory building on Chicago's West side Monday, causing long delays on the CTA.

CICERO, IL — A fire broke out early Monday morning near Cicero, toppling a factory building and causing long delays on the CTA green line. Fire crews arrived at the scene at Lake and Cicero shortly before 1 a.m. and fought the blaze for over an hour, evacuating a nearby building that was exposed to the fire.
Green line service was suspended between Harlem and Conservatory and shuttle service was provided for commuters. There were still residual delays around 3 a.m., but CTA tweeted that service was resuming.
Four master streams were used to put out the fire, according to officials from the Chicago Fire Department.

Fire officials say no firefighters or residents were injured in the blaze. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
