Former OPRF Teacher Cops Guilty Plea to Sex Charges With Student
Oak Park River Forest teacher receives two years' probation after pleading guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse with student.

OAK PARK, IL -- A former English teacher at Oak Park-River Forest High School has pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges a year after turning himself in at a Chicago police station, Wednesday Journal is reporting.
Jeremy J. Lind, 41, of the 700 block of N. Elmwood Avenue in Oak Park, was arrested a year ago after he was accused of having “inappropriate encounters with an underage victim.”
News reports identified the female who had been Lind’s student at OPRF. The relationship began when the girl was 16, and continued after she turned 17. The two reportedly met during a June 2015 school trip to Ireland.

Lind turned himself into Chicago Police First District station where the charges were filed when the teacher and student reportedly had a sexual encounter in September 2015. Lind was placed on administrative leave Oct. 1, 2015, when the allegations of inappropriate conduct first surfaced. He resigned from OPRF in August.
Initially the former teacher had been facing a 22-count indictment, including three felony counts of criminal sexual assault, four felony counts of traveling to meet a minor, four felony counts of indecent solicitation of a child and two felony counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, Patch reported.

The criminal sexual assault charges were considered Class 1 felonies and Lind was facing a possible prison sentence of up to 30 years if convicted.
Lind pleasure guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was sentenced to a minimum of two years’ probation on Dec. 16, Wednesday Journal reported.
