Foul Play Suspected In Death Of Oak Park Man, 77: Cops

Police said the cause of death was pending, but there were "obvious signs of foul play."

OAK PARK, IL — Police say there are "obvious signs of foul play" in the death of a 77-year-old Oak Park man Friday afternoon. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was found dead in his apartment in the 1000 block of North Blvd. by a janitor who works in the building.

According to police, a friend had called for someone to check up on the victim.

When police arrived at the scene of the death, they said they did not see any signs of forced entry, but that evidence of foul play was "obvious." Police have brought in West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force to help with the ongoing investigation.

The official cause of death is still under investigation by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Oak Park Police believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no danger to the community.
