Foxtrot Dance Workshop at the Oak Park Arms

Roberta Kulik will teach foxtrot dance choreography in this free and open to the public class at the Oak Park Arms retirement community.

Roberta Kulik will teach a foxtrot dance workshop at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Oak Park Arms, 408 S. Oak Park Ave. Kulik will teach participants user-friendly foxtrot choreography. Developed in the 1910s, this smooth progressive dance reached its height of popularity in the 1930s and is still practiced today.

Characterized by long and continuous-flowing movements across the dance floor, the foxtrot is similar in its look to the waltz and is danced to big band music, most often with vocals.

The Oak Park Arms is a rental retirement community which provides independent and assisted living apartments and a full schedule of activities and services. Furnished apartments are also available for a short-term stay - a weekend, a week, a month or longer.
