Garage Burglarized On Humphrey In Oak Park: Police Blotter

OAK PARK, IL — Police in Oak Park are investigating a burglary that took place sometime between Sept. 1 and Sept. 4. The victim, who lives in the 700 block of S. Humphrey, told police that someone got into their locked service door by force, causing $100 in damage. Police did not say whether anything was taken.

Burglary

A garage door was damaged in the 800 block of S. Harvey when someone attempted to open it, according to police. The incident reportedly took place sometime between 5 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. on Sept. 3. The total damage was estimated at $150.

Battery Arrest

Police charged Ryan P. McCarthy, 43, of the 700 block of Clarence with battery in connection with an incident that took place in the 1000 block of W. Lake St. on Sept. 1.

Theft

Police are investigating an incident in which a women's pink and black Huffy cruiser was stolen from the side of a resident's home in the 600 block of S. Grove Ave. The theft took place on Sept. 4 around 4:30 p.m., according to police.

Identity Theft Arrest

Johnny Lee Lakes, 43, of Bolingbrook, was arrested and charged with identity theft, according to police.

Burglary From Auto

Police say a vehicle was burglarized in the 1000 block of Lake St. on Sept. 4. According to police, someone got into the resident's unlocked vehicle sometime between 10 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. and stole a wallet containing credit cards and a driver's license.
