Hallapalooza To Celebrate Life, Legacy Of Val Camilletti

Owner Val Camilletti died just days before the 46th anniversary of Val's halla Records.

OAK PARK, IL — Val Camilletti, the wild-haired, big-hearted owner of Val's halla Records died Tuesday at age 78, just days before she was set to celebrate the record store's 46th anniversary with its annual weekend-long Hallapalooza event. Anyone who knew Camilletti would know that she'd say, "the show must go on."

In honor of Val's inimitable spirit and memory, Hallapalooza 2018 will be on in full force Saturday and Sunday with record sales, live music, and countless memories of Camilletti.

Guests can browse rows of records as they share memories of Val and enjoy light refreshments. Several local bands are slated to take the stage for Hallapalooza, uniting the crowd with music, the conduit that united thousands of customers with Camilletti over the past 46 years.
