Imagine listening to classic American love songs sung by one of Chicago's best jazz vocalists, while enjoying a delicious gourmet dinner, served by candle light on a linen covered table with a single red rose, in a room with the intimate ambiance of a Parisian café. Adding to the magic of the night, two professional entertainers will recite tales of love to amuse and delight you. But why just imagine it? On Saturday, February 14 from 6:30 to 10:00 PM, the Eastgate Café at 102 Harrison St., Oak Park, offers "Heart and Soul: A Valentine's Day Celebration " the ultimate romantic experience.

An award-winning full-service restaurant, the Eastgate is preparing a very special prix fixe 3-course meal for this event. Choose from a Seafood Medley plate served with egg-lemon sauce and Vegetables; an 8oz Filet (Steak) with garlic mashed potatoes & vegetables; Chicken Marsala with potatoes & vegetables and 7-layer, 5-cheese Spinach Lasagna Cheese. All entrees come with appetizers and salad. Dessert is a lover's favorite - Magic Chocolate Cake with raspberry topping. Guests can also enjoy their favorite cocktail, wine or beer from the Eastgate’s open bar.

Jazz vocalist and bandleader, Lady T is known around the world as the “American Lady with a lot of jazz to give.” She has represented America’s jazz community at international and cultural jazz events in Europe, East Africa, West Africa and the former Soviet Union. She’ll be accompanied by well-know guitarist Jim Pierce and bassist Dan DeLorenzo. All are among Chicago’s most talented Jazz performers.

To add another level of excitement to the evening, nationally known storytellers, Margaret Burk and Megan Wells, will recite their favorite love stories to interest and amuse you. Margaret has been entertaining audiences throughout Chicago at The Moth, Story Sessions, Story Club and Illinois Storytelling Festival for many years. She also co-hosts monthly storytelling at the Eastgate Cafe with Peter LeGrand as well as BACK ROOM STORIES at Hamburger Mary's. Like Margaret, Megan Wells is a celebrity in the world of storytelling and performs in libraries, with symphonies and at festivals around the country.
