Home Invader Assaults, Robs Woman In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL — An Oak Park woman was assaulted and robbed by a man she found inside her home Wednesday. Police say the incident took place just before 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Lombard Ave.

According to police, the victim said the man grabbed her from behind as she came into the back door of her garage. He then demanded money and stole cash and jewelry from her purse, police say.

The suspect then "ransacked several rooms," took an undetermined amount of items, and fled, the victim told police. Police say the woman was not injured during the incident.
