Homicide Ruled In Death Of Oak Park Man In West Town: Coroner

Jenaro Carballo, 31, succumbed to blunt force trauma during a Jan. 14 attack in West Town.

OAK PARK, IL — The Cook County Medical Examiner has ruled that an Oak Park man who was attacked in West Town was the victim of homicide. The post mortem investigation confirmed that Jenaro Carballo, 31, died of "blunt force trauma to the head and torso" as a result of the Jan. 14 attack, Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Carballo was rushed to Northwestern Hospital around 3:30 a.m. after a caller reported that a man had been fallen at a club in the 1100 block of N. Elston. Carballo was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Chicago Sun-Times.

Detectives are currently conducting an investigation into Carballo's murder.
