ILLINOIS TOWNSHIP DAY, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st

On Wednesday, September 21st, the Townships of Oak Park and River Forest will celebrate “Illinois Township Day” in collaboration with all townships throughout the state. Stop by any of our three locations to meet the people who help bring vital human services to residents of Oak Park and River Forest. Everyone is welcome to this family-friendly event!

We invite you to attend Township Day as our special guest! See how much you know about our programs that span Assessor Services, Senior Services, Youth Services, and General Assistance. Staff members and elected officials will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you about upcoming events.

Want a photo with “Abraham Lincoln”? Come listen to the “Township Day Address” from Abraham Lincoln re-enactor Kevin Wood. Meet other special guests. Enjoy other features noted below:

• 2:00pm-4:00pm – Oak Park Township, 105 S. Oak Park Avenue and 130 S. Oak Park Avenue
• Carnival-themed resource fair with raffle prizes and refreshments
• Travel-sized toiletries will be collected for donation to Housing Forward
• 4:00pm-6:00pm – River Forest Township, 8020 Madison Street
• Ice Cream Social with free sundaes from Brown Cow
• Live music by local residents, Knock-Out Pickle samples from Opportunity Knocks
• Non-perishable food items or monetary donations to the Oak Park and River Forest Food Pantry are suggested
