It's that time of year when we stop to acknowledge our country's adoption of the Declaration of Independence - that document that explains why the United States formed a separate and Independent State, and, declared our independence from Great Britain.
Funny how throughout our lives, independence has certain milestones -- when a baby learns to walk, a toddler learns to feed themselves, someone learns to ride a bike, a teenager learns to drive, a young adult gets a job, a person retires, etc., etc. While we celebrate independence at different stages of our lives, we also acknowledge that our dependence on certain guidelines, truths, and human nature give us the ability to be independent.
So, take time to celebrate all the little and big independence days in our lives.
