'It's A Wonderful Life' Pop-Up Bar To Land In Berwyn For Holidays
Fitzgerald's Nightclub will transform its SideBar into Nick's, the bar from "It's A Wonderful Life."

BERWYN, IL — 'Tis (almost) the season to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" on repeat and recite all the lines you know by heart. If you're as obsessed with that movie as most people are this time of year, you'll be glad to know you can hear that satisfying "ding" that means someone earned their wings in person at an "It's a Wonderful Life" pop-up bar at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn come December.
The SideBar at Fitzgerald's will take on all the trappings of Nick's, the bar George Bailey visited in the movie when he envisioned what life would be like if he'd never been born. The "It's a Wonderful Life" pop-up bar's drink list will include craft cocktails named for some of the movie's most beloved characters and scenes. Once you order a "Zuzu's Petals," the bartender will ring you up on a vintage cash register that "dings" when it opens, just like in the film.
The themed drink menu is the brainchild of three experienced local bartenders who run The Roosevelt Group in Berwyn.

Once you've warmed up with a flaming rum punch (the angel Clarence's drink of choice), join an impromptu rendition of "Auld Lang Syne" or dance to Christmas songs played by a live jazz band. Don't worry; there's not a swimming pool under this dance floor.
Of course no holiday evening would be complete without a viewing of "It's a Wonderful Life," which the pop-up bar will play on a big screen at 8 p.m.
