James and the Giant Peach

This weekend there will be some magic on the stage at Guerin Prep High School PAC as CYT- Oak Park (formerly Spotlight) presents James and The Giant Peach. A cast of 45 kids, ages 8-18 will bring Roald Dahl’s tale to life in this delightful adaption of this classic adventure story. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows into a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean, and launches him on a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks, sea gulls, and plenty of disagreements along the way. James and the Giant Peach will be a musical the whole family will love with its vibrant colors, toe tapping musical numbers, and its outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters.

Sunday November 12 at 2pm
