Kitchen Knife-Wielding Man Tries To Rob Wendy's In Oak Park
Police say the man wielded a kitchen knife that was rolled up in a newspaper

OAK PARK, IL — Police are trying to track down a man who wielded a kitchen knife in an attempt to rob a Wendy's in Oak Park. The attempted robbery took place in the 100 block of N. Harlem at approximately 3 p.m. Saturday.
The suspect entered the restaurant and approached the cashier, demanding the money from the register. Police say he showed a "black-handled kitchen knife rolled up inside a newspaper."
According to a police summary, the clerk left the register and ran to call law enforcement, causing the offender to flee.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 40s with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, and a black hat.
