La Majada Express: It's All Coming Together

Oak Park-River Forest Patch would just like to go on record to say we're excited about whatever's about to happen at the corner of Lake Street and Lathrop Avenue in River Forest. 

That's where the owners of La Majada plan to expand with express version of their Harrison Street restaurant.

owner Jesse Haggar told Patch the restaurant will feature Mexican smoked ribs served with a variety of sauces, Mexican pizza with fresh vegetables and chicken, steak or chorizo, grilled shrimp dishes and "of course tacos and burritos but with a little different twist."

He also said he planned to create a comfortable space for alfresco dining. Reached on Wednesday, Haggar said plans call for the installation of synthetic grass, water fountains and tables and chairs within the fence. 

So when can hungry diners enjoy the new patio? 

"We hope it will be another month," he said.
