Calling all creative ladies in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs! We want YOU to join us at HQ Beedcade in River North on September 17th from 4-6pm for an amazing night of drinks, arcade games and making some new friends!
The hardest part about having a dream is finding the people around you that can help, support, and encourage you through the process. That's the type of community our founder Katie Meyers wanted to create! This lead the the birth of our online community November 2015. She compiled like-minded, inspirational women and gave them a space to express their ideas and dreams. The first official meeting of the CWA was held March 2016.
Our goal and desire is to meet women from all walks of life around Chicago and the Suburbs! This event in September is a chance for you to meet our leaders and some current members to see if the CWA the women's group for you! We'll be there to hang out, answer your questions and you can sign up to become a member if you'd like. It's free!
The CWA is a womens only group. Why are we exclusively for women?
Women are historically underrepresented in many fields including theater, business, performance art, and much much more. Even in 2016, we still experience a wage gap, a glass ceiling, discrimination, harassment in the workplace and public space, etc. We designed this group to nurture and support women in whatever they wish to achieve, even if they just want to share a space with like-minded individuals. At CWA we also recognize that gender is not binary, but rather a spectrum and not all women are cisgendered. If you identify as a woman, please feel free to join our creative space!
