Library Officials Present: Executive Director David Seleb; Assistant Directors James Madigan, Cyndee Landrum; Manager for Material Services, Elizabeth Marszalik; Managers for Children Services (Heather M. Watts) and Adult and Teen Services (Ellsworth Rockefeller;) Office Manager Rita Earle; and LWVOPRF Observer, Mary Rose Lambke.
Beginning at 7:30pm and after approval of previous minutes, Trustee Comments began with David Sokol reporting that the OP Public Art Commission has purchased “Gepettos Boy” for installation at the Main Library of OPPL.

Elizabeth Marszalik shared a graphic handout, the “Migration Timeline,” describing the transition and training period of technological advancement for the OPPL staff and patrons. There may be a slow period next April for 3 days.
Elsworth Rockefeller and Heather Watts described their very successful Summer Reading program focusing on critical thinking and STEM skills, and moving patrons toward exploration and discovery habits.
The intense discussion on the draft policy on Unattended Children focused on Cyndee Landrum and Heather Watts on the behavioral issues and “How to assist children needing attention.” The draft will be refined and brought to the next board meeting.
Observer left at this point, 9pm. Discussion of the Harwood Institute, New Business, and Reports by Staff will be reviewed in the minutes in October.
