Local Cooling Centers Open
Authorities advising check-ups on friends, neighbors, pets and the elderly.

As the temperatures continue to climb into the mid-90s, local authorities are issuing safety reminders about wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing and hats, drinking plenty of water anf taking regular breaks if you're doing outside activity.
Residents without air conditioning can visit the following free cooling centers:

- , 123 Madison St.
- Oak Park Public Library, all branches
