Local Resident Wins Student of the Month Award!
AJ Jones of Oak Forest received Student of the Month award from Cosmetologists Chicago
Every month Cosmetologists Chicago (CC) – the largest association of salon professionals in the Midwest - visits a cosmetology school and awards the CC Student of the Month. This month, we feature AJ Jones, graduate of Oak Park’s Capri Beauty College. CC Voices sat down with AJ and learned more about her goals and her passion
CC: Why do you want to be a beauty professional?
AJ:I’m in love with making people beautiful. When customers come back and I get to see the smiles on their faces, it makes me feel really good. I also like to stand out in what I do.
CC: Who or what is your inspiration?
AJ: I am inspired by life. If I see something like art or buildings, I want to try to make a hairstyle out of it. If I think I can do it, I will try! I once created a hairstyle inspired by Saturn.
CC: What are you looking forward to most at America’s Beauty Show?
AJ: I want to see what’s out there and network with as many people as possible. It would be amazing if I could meet Sam Villa.
CC: Where do you see yourself in five years?
AJ: I want to work for TIGI as a platform artist so I can learn new trends, be outgoing in my style, and express myself through my work.
