Man Asks For Cigarette, Robs Victim At Gunpoint In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL --- A Chicago resident was the victim of an armed robbery in Oak Park Thursday afternoon. The robbery took place just after 12:30 p.m., according to a police report.

The victim was walking in the 100 block of W. Madison when they were approached by a man who asked them for a cigarette and some change. Police say the suspect then showed a black handgun and grabbed the victim.

The suspect reportedly rifled through the pockets of the victim's jacket and stole cash and a U.S. bank debit card. The total loss was estimated at $703.
