Man Escapes Armed Carjacking Attempt In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL -- Police in Oak Park are looking for suspects after a man evaded an armed carjacking early Saturday. The attempted carjacking took place around 10:35 a.m. in the 1100 block of S. Taylor Ave., according to police.

The victim told police he was getting out of his car when he was approached by two men. One of the men, who was armed, demanded the victim's car keys and valuables, but the victim did not comply.

The offenders then fled on foot and were last seen walking east in a nearby alley.
