Man In Surgical Mask With Possible Toy Gun Tries To Rob Resident

OAK PARK, IL --- An Oak Park resident was almost the victim of robbery when a man in a surgical mask entered their garage while wielding what may have been a toy gun. The incident took place Wednesday in the 700 block of N. Humphrey, according to a police summary.

Police say the suspect got into the garage via an open overhead door and approached the victim, demanding cash. The victim told police that the suspect showed a silver semi-automatic handgun that the victim believed was fake.

No money was reportedly stolen, according to police.
