Studio architects join the master on Wright Plus 2016 Housewalk

Join us for Wright Plus, the internationally renowned Great American Housewalk. The focus for Wright Plus 2016 is Wright and His Studio, featuring private homes and public buildings designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and the architects and designers who worked in Wright’s Oak Park Studio. Get your tickets early for this rare opportunity to tour spectacular living spaces and enjoy a festive day of architecture and design.

Featured residences include:

• Harry S. Adams House (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1913) - This classic Prairie house was Frank Lloyd Wright’s final Oak Park commission.

• Thomas Gale House (Frank Lloyd Wright, 1892) - An early Wright bootleg house distills Queen Anne design elements to their essential geometry.

• William E. Drummond House (William E. Drummond, 1910) - The personal residence of Frank Lloyd Wright’s key associate, inspired by Wright’s Fireproof House.

• Mary Greenless Yerkes House (John S. Van Bergen, 1912) - A creative interpretation of Wright’s Fireproof House features original fixtures and built-ins.

• Charles J. Barr House (William E. Drummond & Louis Guenzel, 1912) - Distinctly Prairie style, with an efficient floor plan highlighted by a grand central fireplace.

Also on the Wright Plus tour is the place where Wright’s innovative Prairie homes were conceived: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio, the oldest Wright building open as a public museum. Another public site on the Housewalk – Frederick C. Robie House – was designed in Wright’s Oak Park studio.

For those looking to extend the experience, the Ultimate Plus Weekend Package offers six exclusive events in one long weekend, including preferred admission to each site on the May 16 Housewalk, hotel accommodations and transportation. Ultimate Plus runs May 19-22, 2016.
