Oak Park Election Results: Village Board of Trustees

Oak Park's Village Board election gave each of three available seats to new faces who plan to ease tax burdens and increase transparency.

OAK PARK, IL — There were just three seats up for grabs on the Village Board of Trustees in Oak Park’s election Tuesday and all of them went to new faces. Incumbents Glenn Brewer and Peter Barber were not able to secure enough votes in their efforts for re-election, allowing Simone Boutet, Dan Moroney and Deno J. Andrews to become the newest trustees.

Moroney led with 23.24% of votes, followed closely by Andrews with 23.15%. Boutet snagged the remainder of votes with 20.35%, according to unofficial results from the Cook County Clerk’s Office. Moroney is a lifelong resident of Oak Park, Andrews has lived in the village for 45 years and Boutet has resided in Oak Park for 25 years.

During the campaign all three newly elected trustees focused strongly on such issues as alleviating taxes for Oak Park residents and promoting government and business transparency to help build trust within the community.
