Oak Park Sculpture Walk Features Interactive, Colorful Art Pieces

One sculpture uses windpower and 12 chambers to create sounds.

OAK PARK, IL --- A dozen colorful sculptures will brighten Oak Park Avenue throughout the summer as part of the village's 7th Annual 2018 Sculpture Walk. The walk, which will be up through Labor Day, features winning sculptures by midwest and Chicago area artists and includes an interactive piece of art that uses air chambers to create sounds.

Visitors can see the artwork on display between Lexington and Van Buren Streets and can download the Otocast app to learn more about each piece.

Some of this year's standout sculptures include a mosaic tiled giraffe, a canary yellow butterfly made from a repurposed chair, and a tableau of bright blue birds in flight.
