Oak Park's Divvy Program Comes To An End Jan. 23

Oak Park's Divvy program was ended with a 4-3 vote at Tuesday's Oak Park Village Meeting.

OAK PARK, IL — The Village of Oak Park has voted to end its Divvy bike program after less than two years. The program was voted down by a 4-3 vote during Tuesday night's village council meeting. Residents won't be able to pick up or drop off Divvy bikes in Oak Park as of Jan. 23, the village said.

The Divvy program kicked off in 2016 in Oak Park, but the village has failed to make enough from riders to justify the cost. During the meeting, trustees who voted to end the program cited the high costs and low participation.

Oak Park currently has 13 Divvy stations with a total of 130 bikes. The village says subscribers will be contacted by Motivate, which ran the Divvy stations, regarding the end to the Divvy bike program.
