Oaktoberfest Brings Bier, Bratwurst And Bands To Downtown Oak Park
Oaktoberfest takes place Sept. 15 and 16 in at Marion Street and North Boulevard, just south of Lake Street.

OAK PARK, IL — Dust of your lederhosen, Oak Park; it's time for Oaktoberfest. The fest will descend on downtown Oak Park Sept. 15 and 16 and it's bringing craft beer, food from local restaurants, and live music.
Naturally, the dining selection will include German favorites like Bratwurst and Bavarian pretzels, but there will also be a huge variety of other international eats to get stuffed on. Jerusalem Café will be serving up shish kabob, Khyber pass will be searing authentic Tandoori chicken, and Luo's Peking House will be doling out fried dumplings.
If you're hankering for some good old-fashioned fair food, don't worry; funnel cakes and corn dogs will be at the ready courtesy of Puree's Pizza and Pasta.

The family-friendly Oaktoberfest is loaded with entertainment this year to keep kids and kids-at-heart busy. Kids can shout "Prost!" as they clink their own overflowing steins in a special root beer garden that also features interactive arts and inventive games. (Think zucchini racing and a "ninja obstacle course.")
Grownups may not be able to participate in the high-stakes zucchini race, but they can dance to live tunes from Lady Wray, Monophonics, and Ifficial Reggae Movement.
