Lavergne’s Tavern is bringing German culture and food to the Chicagoland suburbs with a unique Oktoberfest menu available Friday, September 16th through Sunday, October 2nd.
Open just a few months, Lavergne’s is setting the precedent for its nod to the German tradition by making its Oktoberfest menu available for over two weeks’ time. Despite the common assumption that Oktoberfest is meant to be in October, traditionally, Oktoberfest celebrations have started the third week in September and ended the first Sunday in October.
Along with keeping to the traditional timeframe of the original German celebration, Lavergne’s Tavern is presenting a unique, authentic German-inspired food menu for the duration of the celebration. Menu items will include: Kartoffel Suppe (potato, bacon, caramelized onions, golden cabbage soup), Bavarian Bratwurst (beer braised Oktoberfest bratwurst, caramelized onions, German mustard), Schlachtplatte (grilled bratwurst, garlic sausage, smoked pork ribs, roasted fingerling potatoes, sauerkraut, stone ground mustard sauce), Kaiserschmarren (Bavarian pancake with warm blueberry compote), and more.

In addition to German-style food, Lavergne’s will have multiple Oktoberfest and marzen-style beers available on draft, to complete the full Oktoberfest experience.
Lavergne’s celebration of Oktoberfest follows the Berwyn Depot District’s festival this weekend (September 16th-17th), and keeps the traditional celebration going for another two weeks.
