Person Ejected From Vehicle On I-290 In Fatal Crash: Police

A second person was injured and taken to a hospital, police said.

OAK PARK, IL — One person was killed and another was injured in a crash Sunday morning on Interstate 290 in which one of the victims was ejected from a vehicle, according to police.

The incident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. on the westbound interstate near Home Avenue in Oak Park, state police said, adding that a Jeep and a Saturn collided, leading to the ejection. The ejected person died and the injured person was taken to a hospital, according to police.

Westbound lanes were closed but reopened around 9:30 a.m., police said, adding the crash remained under investigation.
