Police Seek 2 Armed Robbery Suspects In Oak Park

OAK PARK, IL — Police are looking for two suspects who held a clerk at gunpoint and robbed the Oak Park Discount Variety Store Tuesday. The incident took place at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the 400 block of N. Austin.

The victim told police the first offender came into the store, held a gun to their head, and told them, "put your head down," before removing cash from the register and placing the contents in a black bag. He then took the victim's black Samsung Galaxy 8 phone as well.

As second suspect then entered and removed a "white skeleton mask" from a display in the store before both offenders fled westbound on Lake Street. The total loss was estimated at $1,215.

The first offender is described as a male of average height with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, a bright blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants, and white gym shoes. The second suspect is described as a male of average height and thin build, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with blue floral print, black pants, and white gym shoes.
