Police Warn Of West Side Business Robberies
A burglar has been cutting power to businesses in the Austin neighborhood before breaking in, police warned.
OAK PARK, IL — Chicago police have issued an alert to businesses in the 25th and 15th districts, warning of recent burglaries in the Austin neighborhood. In each burglary, the offender cuts power to the business and then gains access by breaking through the front door or window, police said.
In one of the burglaries, the offender gained access through the roof.

- in the 4800 block of W. Fulton on April 29 at about 4:05 a.m.;
- in the 300 block of N. Laramie on April 16 at about 3 a.m.; and

- in the 5800 block of W. North Ave. on April 11 at about 12:36 a.m.
