Prostitution Bust By Police Posing As Clients In Oak Park
Oak Park Police posed as spa clients in a prostitution sting last week.
OAK PARK, IL — A joint undercover investigation by Oak Park and Cook County Police ended in charges of prostitution and unlicensed massage for four people employed at three local spas. The prostitution bust took place Tuesday at King Spa, located at 6441 North Avenue and at two Angel Spa locations at 1102 Chicago Avenue and 6340 Roosevelt Road. The King Spa location currently has an ad on backpage advertising that "sweet, sexy Asian girls will satisfy you."
The investigation began after police received multiple complaints from community members alleging that prostitution was taking place at the spas. Police officers posed as clients and uncovered evidence that led to Tuesday's arrests. Tina King, 51, of the 4500 block of S. LaCrosse Avenue in Chicago, and Limei Menge, 47, of the 2400 block of Kelburn Avenue in Rosemead, California, were charged with prostitution. Zhang Lan, 49, of the 200 block of 19th Street in Chicago, and Tiantian Kan, 30, of 200 block of W. 18th St. in Chicago, were charged with conducting massage without a license, police said.
The spas will remained closed until a license review hearing takes place.
