Public Transportation Offers Travel Option for Summer Festivals

Summer fun is just a short ride away and the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) is reminding riders that they can beat the traffic by taking the fastest and most convenient way to get around the region: public transportation. Take a bus or train to enjoy family time, meet friends at an event or just enjoy our great city.

Riders can use the RTA’s Trip Planner to plan travel and select routes with ADA accessible services when necessary. It is the only website in the region that provides a variety of options for getting around by using transit, walking, bicycling and driving. • Pitch Fork Music Festival - Celebrating its 10th year, this internationally recognized festival will bring more than 40 bands from July 17-19 at Chicago’s Union Park, 1501 W Randolph St, Chicago. • Chicago Craft Beer Festival – This festival has grown in wild popularity to become the Windy City’s hottest specialty beer gathering on Sheffield Avenue between Webster and Fullerton Avenue. • Kane County Fair– Rated Fox Valley’s top summer event, this year’s fair features some of the best live music, carnival rides and if you’re daring, the latest grandstand event, the Jack Axe Competition that will test your strength.
