Retail Thefts, Car Burglaries: Oak Park Police Reports

OAK PARK, IL — Retail thefts, car burglaries and vehicle thefts have been reported this week in Oak Park. On Monday and Tuesday, Oak Park police detained at least three people for retail thefts.

Here's the latest summary report from the Oak Park Police Department:

  • Two people were arrested after a retail theft was reported Monday in the 1100 block of South Cuyler Ave. Officers arrived on scene at about 9:45 a.m., and arrested Edward Repass. 39, and Deleana Appleton, 41, both of Chicago.
  • A vehicle theft was reported in the 900 block of South Elmwood Ave Monday, police said. A locked black Chevrolet Impala was stolen from an alley where it was parked between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • A green garbage can was stolen from the 900 block of North Euclid Ave. Monday morning by a landscaping truck with the name Rudy's on its side, police said.
  • Another retail theft was reported in the 1100 block of Lake Street Monday at about 3:30 p.m. Jordan Brady, 27, of Chicago, was arrested, police said.
  • Two vehicles were burglarized in the 1100 block of Westgate while they were in a parking garage at some point over the past month, police said. Both vehicles were left unlocked, and were ransacked.
  • A theft was reported from the 800 block of Lake Street, police said. A black duffel bag filled with clothing and books was stolen.
