River Forest Chocolates Expands and Rebrands
Local and Chicago favorite River Forest Chocolates moves down the street to a custom built expanded kitchen and shop
November 1st, 2017 River Forest, IL - River Forest Chocolates has opened the doors to their expanded artisan chocolate shop and kitchen in a custom outfitted 1100 square foot space at 7769 Lake Street on October 28th—just in time for Halloween. Owner and chocolatier Donna Fantetti Slepicka, of River Forest, has been searching for the perfect space to accommodate her expanding business for a few years. “I love having my business in River Forest with the support of the Village and the residents. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else.”
In business since 2011, Fantetti Slepicka decided on the move from the 650 square foot store three blocks east as a result of a growing need for more space, including a larger kitchen, fully outfitted for creating the custom chocolates she has become known for in the greater Chicago area. In tandem with the move, Fantetti Slepicka tapped Yearbook Studios to do an overall re-branding and identity. Yearbook created the new logo, storefront signage, and is working on the merchandising and design of the store interior along with Jenny Shepherd, who is promoting the new location. “Working with Yearbook Studio has truly been a dream come true. Jef and his staff really pulled together the essence of my business and created a beautiful image package.”
Fantetti Slepicka’s passion for chocolate began several years ago when she took a chocolate class at Triton College. She took what she learned and began making chocolates for family and friends. The overwhelmingly positive response inspired her to open River Forest Chocolates six years ago. Community support has played a huge role in the success of the artisan chocolate shop, as well as corporate events both locally and regionally, which now account for over half of the annual business.
In addition to the retail element and on-site kitchen where Fantetti Slopecki will continue to create her signature chocolates including her famous English toffee, sea salt caramel, chocolate covered strawberries, and the “River Forest Tortoise,” the space will now host classes and events.
