River Forest Police Blotter: Cigarettes and Cash Taken from Puffs

The following items are taken from River Forest daily summary reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Home Invasion: A resident living in a home in the 1500 block of Bonnie Brae Avenue who was awakened by a noise confronted and struggled with a burglar who broke into his home around 4:15 a.m. Nov. 13. The suspect ran away, scattering loose change from his pockets. Entry was gained through the back door; the homeowner was uninjured.

Retail Theft: An unknown number of boxes of Musinex were taken Nov. 12 from , 7929 North Ave., when a suspect put items in his jacket and ran away. Employees followed the suspect out of the store, but they didn’t see the type of vehicle he entered or the direction the suspect was heading, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Sharon J. Reed, 24, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 11 with driving on a suspended license, driving without insurance and driving with an expired registration after she was pulled over in the area of Second Avenue and Madison Street in Maywood, police said.

Warrant Arrest: Andres Figueroa, 22, of Chicago, was arrested Nov. 10 on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for drunken driving, police said. Police questioned Figueroa after he had been seen in the parking lot of the Fenwick Athletic Fields, 7255 Greenfield St., after dark.

Theft: A mountain bicycle locked to a rack outside of, 7501 North Ave., was stolen Nov. 10.

Traffic Arrest: Onya Brown, 24, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 10 with driving on a suspended license and driving with an obstructed windshield after a traffic stop at the intersection of Second Avenue and Madison Street in Maywood, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Ladewey J. Knox, 24, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 9 with driving on a suspended license and speeding after a traffic stop in the 8100 block of Madison Street, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Telly J. McGee, 32, of Maywood, was charged Nov. 9 with a variety of traffic offenses including driving on a revoked license and driving without insurance after a traffic stop in the area of First Avenue and Washington Boulevard, police said.

Retail Theft Arrest: Larry Martin, 20, of Chicago,and Deandre Martin, 18, of Chicago were charged Nov. 9 with retail theft after taking three bottles of high-end vodka from , 7501 W. North Ave., police said. They were apprehended in the alley behind the 7200 block of North Avenue along with a third man, Pierre Scott, 19, of Chicago, who was charged with obstructing identification, police said.

Traffic Arrest: Tiffany English, 31, of Hillside, was charged Nov. 8 with driving on a suspended license and other offenses after a traffic stop in the 7700 block of Washington Boulevard, police said.

Warrant Arrest: Danny D. McGhee, 20, of Chicago, was arrested Nov. 8 on an outstanding warrant out of Cook County for possession of a controlled substance, providing false information to police and soliciting without a permit after a resident in the 100 block of Park Avenue complained about people who were going door to door to collect for a school program, police said. Also arrested were Tavaris C. Morgan, 19, of Chicago, and a 14-year-old, for giving false information and soliciting without a permit, police said.

Criminal Trespass: Louis A. Bova, 84, of Melrose Park, was charged Nov. 8 with criminal trespass to real property after being repeatedly warned not to enter the River Forest Town Center, 7201 Lake St., police said.

Traffic Arrest: William E. Harris, 36, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 8 with several traffic offenses, including driving on a suspended license and driving without insurance, after a traffic stop in the area of North Avenue and Woodbine Avenue in Oak Park, police said.  

Traffic Arrest: Leslie Riley, 47, of Chicago, was charged Nov. 7 with driving on a suspended license and improper use of registration after being pulled over in the area of Ashland and North avenues, police said.

Burglary: Nearly $8,400 in cigarettes and cash were stolen Nov. 7 when two suspects broke the glass in the front door and entered , 7756 Madison St., in the early morning hours of Nov. 7.
